About

Hanging Pipes presents a new hybrid typology that unites utility, sustainability, and sculptural clarity. Developed in dialogue with architect Philippe Rahm—renowned for his work in sustainable architecture and climate-responsive design—the piece responds to contemporary environmental challenges with a clear design and practical technical solutions.

Crafted from bent and welded aluminium tubes, the object can be wall-mounted or used as a freestanding structure. Its minimalist form serves as both sculptural element and functional object—usable, for instance, as a shelf. A modular design allows for flexible spatial integration.

The object’s core feature is its ability to be filled with cold groundwater via an integrated valve. Thanks to aluminium’s low thermal capacity and lightweight nature, it absorbs and emits coolness over time. It can be recharged by being placed outdoors overnight, utilizing natural temperature drops to refresh its cooling capacity—offering a low-tech, mobile indoor climate solution.
